Having been part of two significant romantic endeavors – The Little Mermaid and You, Me & Tuscany – can you identify when you’ve met your ideal Prince Charming? EmmaTseng
In my view, every character envisions their Prince Charming differently. For Ariel, her journey wasn’t about finding a prince; her motivation to explore above the sea stemmed from her curiosity about life and what her future might hold. Similarly, Anna from You, Me & Tuscany, pursues what her heart desires through spontaneous choices, embracing the philosophy of living life to the fullest. Both are strong, determined characters who find that meeting their Prince Charmings – supportive and affirming partners – is a delightful bonus to their adventures.
Your co-star in You, Me & Tuscany, Regé-Jean Page, is well-known as the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton. Did his British allure influence you in any way? And if you could choose, which Bridgerton character would you want to be? MrSOBaldrick
Regé is incredibly humorous and kind-hearted. His British accent seems more pronounced now that we are in London, whereas it fluctuates when we are in my hometown, LA. I do hope some of his charm has influenced me! I’m a fan of Bridgerton and would choose to be the queen. She’s phenomenal, has the power to select the season’s standout debutante, plays matchmaker, and observes romantic developments around her.
How has becoming a mother influenced your creativity? vanderpump
It has profoundly impacted me, especially in music. Emotions are more intense, and that depth enhances your artistry. Motherhood opens up a new dimension of universal love – an overwhelming, unexpected love. This transformation has enriched my life tremendously, improving my creativity and my insights as a writer, artist, and mother.
There was some backlash when you were cast as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, yet you handled it gracefully. Did Rachel Zegler reach out when she faced similar scrutiny for her role as Snow White? Barney_McGrew
Rachel is wonderful; she’s like a real friend, although we primarily connect through Instagram and have met briefly once. It’s tough being a young woman in this industry, facing immense scrutiny when presented with big roles. Many try to pigeonhole you based on their expectations. I’ve learned the importance of ignoring much of that external noise. It’s about maintaining your resilience, especially when stepping into roles as iconic as a Disney princess.
Do you continue to seek advice from Beyoncé? Blaze682
Absolutely, she’s like family to me, akin to a cool aunt. I’ve known her since I was 15 when she mentored my sister Chlöe and me. I still reach out for her thoughts on my projects. She’s always attentive and supportive, encouraging me to forge my own path while ensuring she’s there if I need guidance.
How often do people mistake you for Halle Berry? Dr_J_A_Zoidberg
Interestingly, my parents were inspired by her when they named me. They liked the name Hailey, but felt Hailey Bailey sounded odd, so they chose Halle instead. I’ve met her a few times, and she’s always been incredibly kind. However, I often have to correct people who confuse our names.
Your authenticity and approachability shine through. What do you consider the best and worst aspects of fame? eamonmcc
The best part is definitely the ability to travel extensively and provide for my loved ones. As for the downsides, it’s all about perspective. I’m grateful for the support I receive, which helps me overlook most negatives. Though, I’d prefer not to take selfies in the restroom!
What type of movie genre are you eager to explore next? Thatgirl225
I’m quite interested in delving into horror. After watching Sinners, I found myself wishing I could be part of such a film. Everything I’ve done so far has been quite light-hearted, so taking on something darker would be a thrilling challenge.
Between being a pop star and a movie star, which do you prefer? Blaze682
Performing on stage comes more naturally to me, possibly because it’s where I can express my personal experiences through music. Acting in front of a film crew, tasked with delivering precise emotional performances, presents a different set of challenges. When I sing, I can immerse myself in the music and momentarily escape.
Could you share your spiritual beliefs and how they influence your life? EmmaTseng
I hold a strong belief in God, nurtured by my Christian upbringing in Atlanta, Georgia. I feel blessed with my voice and believe it’s my duty to use this gift for good, as inspired by my grandparents who often quoted the Bible, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” I strive to live by this principle daily.
