Unbelievable Hotel Mix-Up: Booked a Bear Hotel, But Not the One 50 Miles Away!

July 20, 2025

We wanted to stay at a Bear hotel – just not one 50 miles away

Despite receiving a confirmation for our correct booking from Super.com, the reservation was mistakenly made at a different hotel with the same name.

To celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, we arranged a stay at the Bear hotel in Crickhowell, Wales, through the reservation platform Super.com.

Although we received an email confirming our reservation, when I contacted the hotel to inquire about dinner arrangements, they could not find our booking.

It was later discovered that we were mistakenly booked at the Bear hotel in Cowbridge instead.

Despite the error, Super.com maintained that the booking was non-refundable and declined to refund our money.

After submitting proof of the mistake, there was no acknowledgment or response from them.

While Cowbridge might be a charming town, it was not our intended destination. Oddly, the confirmation email incorrectly stated the booking was for Crickhowell, yet the reservation was made 50 miles away.

Super.com also did not respond to my inquiries, but my persistence eventually led to a refund, though it came without an apology or any admission of their error.
